小滿

芒種
Grain in Ear
芒種預示著仲夏時節的來臨。此時氣溫顯著升高，雨水豐沛，正是農家忙著收成小麥、插秧種稻的時節。
Grain in Ear marks the onset of midsummer. Temperatures rise noticeably, rainfall becomes abundant, and farmers are occupied with harvesting wheat and planting rice.

太陽直射北回歸線。這一天，北半球的白晝時間達到全年最長。對北回歸線及其以北地區而言，夏至正午的太陽高度也是一年中最高的，但這還不是一年最炎熱的時候。
The sun shines directly on the Tropic of Cancer. On this day, daylight hours in the Northern Hemisphere reach their annual peak. For regions on or north of the Tropic of Cancer, the noon sun altitude is also at its highest, yet it is not the hottest time of the year.

正式進入盛夏。小暑意指天氣開始炎熱，但還未到極熱。此時全國作物進入蓬勃生長期，農友需加強田間管理。小暑前後，中國許多地區常出現雷雨，並伴有強風、暴雨，有時甚至會降下冰雹。
We step into the height of summer. Lesser Heat indicates the weather is turning hot but not yet extreme. As crops across the land enter a vigorous growth phase, farmers need to intensify field care. Around this period, thunderstorms frequently occur in many parts of China, often accompanied by strong winds, heavy rain, and occasionally hail.

這是一年中最酷熱的時節。此時旱災與洪澇是中國常見的自然災害。為了消解暑氣，綠豆和冬瓜成為多數家庭的首選食材。我們也應多補充水分、減少戶外活動，以防中暑。另外需留意的是，無論天氣多麼悶熱難耐，仍不宜過度依賴空調。
This is the hottest period of the year. Droughts and floods are common natural disasters in China during this time. To cope with the persistent heat, mung beans and winter melon are popular food choices in most households. We should also drink plenty of water and reduce outdoor activities to prevent heatstroke. Another point to note is that no matter how unbearable the weather becomes, we should avoid over-reliance on air conditioning.
立秋
Autumn Begins
熱浪漸退，天氣轉涼。依循傳統習俗，此時正是「貼秋膘」的時節。由於夏日食欲不振，人們習慣在秋天以肉食滋補身體。有些女孩因為擔心體重增加，對「貼秋膘」這件事可是敬而遠之呢。
Autumn arrives around August 7th or 8th. As the heat waves subside, the weather gradually cools. According to Chinese tradition, this is the time for “Tiē Qiū Biāo” (autumn fattening). Since appetites tend to wane in summer, people supplement their diet with meat in autumn. Some women, however, dread this practice for fear of gaining weight.

夏日完全被秋日取代。此時的藍天、斑斕葉色與舒適氣溫，正是郊遊踏青的好時機。浙江沿海的居民還會舉辦開漁節，慶祝捕撈魚獲與海鮮的最佳時節到來。
Summer is wholly replaced by autumn. The blue sky, colorful foliage, and pleasant temperatures make it an ideal time for excursions. People along the coast of Zhejiang Province also celebrate the Fishing Festival, marking the best season for catching fish and other seafood.
白露

天氣轉涼，清晨時分常可見葉片上凝結的露珠，這是夜間水氣遇冷所致，也正是這個節氣名稱的由來。
As temperatures drop, dew often forms on leaves in the early morning due to moisture condensation overnight—hence the name White Dew.
秋分
Autumnal Equinox
全球多數地區在這一天晝夜等長，各為12小時。此外，秋分也意味著秋天已過了一半。
Day and night are nearly equal in most parts of the world, each lasting about 12 hours. Moreover, Autumnal Equinox signifies the midpoint of autumn.
寒露

寒氣漸濃，露水更涼。此時初霜將至，預示著秋日將盡，初冬即將來臨。
The chill deepens, and dew turns colder. The first frost often appears around this time, heralding the end of autumn and the approach of early winter.
霜降
Hoar Frost Falls
霜降是秋季最後一個節氣，同時也代表冬季的開始。
This is the final solar term of autumn, also indicating the beginning of winter.
立冬
Winter Begins
立冬是重要的節氣。古時皇帝會率領文武百官至北郊祭壇舉行祭天儀式。時至今日，人們仍會在這天進行各種應景的慶祝活動。
Winter Begins is a significant solar term. In ancient times, the emperor would lead officials to the northern suburban altar to worship heaven. Even today, people still observe various customs to celebrate this day.
小雪
Light Snow
這個節氣氣溫逐漸降至冰點以下，但大地尚未過於寒冷。雖然開始飄雪，雪量卻不大，因此稱為「小雪」。
Temperatures gradually fall below freezing, yet the earth is not extremely cold. Although snow begins to fall, it is usually light—hence the name Light Snow.
