I just purchase and installed a second Astoria fan – both fans are replacement fans for small bedrooms with 8 foot high ceilings, but so far they are very quiet, and with a quick check on balance/wobble, both are very stable and smooth running. The two 60 watt incandescent bulbs are a bit dim and warm in color, and I may try a pair of daylight LED bulbs to see if the apparent brightness is improved, but generally I do not use overhead lights except when I enter a room and I then switch to a bedside or desk lamp. Not a big deal. I had a minor issue with the first fan that caused the fan to stop when I pushed the lamp base into position, contacted tech support & spoke with a very helpful person who ran through some basic troubleshooting steps. I ended up disconnecting the lamp module, unplugged and reconnected all internal connections making sure that they were all tight, reinstalled the lamp base and everything has worked normally since. Just an observation, this is not a quick job if it is done correctly, especially if an old fan has to be removed first. All parts fit well and I believe there is even a small bag with a few spare parts. One reviewer commented on the fan chain sticking and it is important to note that the fan chain has to be fed through a plastic guide hole in the base of the lamp, as well as through the bronze cap at the base of the glass bowl. Mine works smoothly with no sticking at all. Good range of fan speeds, very smooth running and quiet at all speeds. The “wood” blades to not look very convincing up close but the effect is pleasant and as they are running almost all of the time, again not a problem. I just need to see how these last. I will hopefully update in six months or so with an assessment at that point. Generally very pleased.

Clean look, simple light assembly with easy to remove translucent glass cover. Easy to install. Silent. No humming, buzzing or clicking. After returning a far more expensive fan due to noise, I am very pleased with Hunter.

The fan overall is nice, we just have one issue with the fan is that the shade just will not mount straight on the fixture, it tilts no matter what you do.

First off, this fan has the Hunter dust coating. That was a concern because I didn’t see it in this fan’s description but did on others. On their website they note that all fans after a certain time have that treatment.For the price, this fan is excellent. Its replacing a 14 year old buider’s grade fan that the ball bearings have gone bad. My electrician installed it, had to use an 18 ft ladder because its in a two story great room. Because of the ceiling height, we used the
Hunter 26045 48-Inch Downrod, New Bronze
and added the
Litex RC-103 RC-103 Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control, White
. My electrician didn’t put the fan on high when he installed it so I was concerned about the slow speed of this fan on high with the remote. I called Litex and they said the pull chain had to be on high. After doing that, the fan went up to the expected speed and the remote works as expected for the slower speeds. Its actually better than expected since we had a Hampton Bay fan installed a couple years back and this fan is silent in comparison. I expect this fan to last a long time, double the old one.

OK, I need to admit that over all I am not a fan of ceiling fans, at all. But I knew the room we were putting this in required a fan so I went on my search, on Amazon of course! I had found pricier ones that I was going to “make due” with but being down to the wire and needing the fan ASAP, I decided to take a chance on this one. The price was great on Amazon and from what I could see it looked nice with a little sweetness to the design. So I have to say after it was installed I was so relieved to be extremely pleased with this fan. I purchased it for a girls room and for one. I like that it only has one globe instead of several single ones on the bottom. I also like the little detail holding the blades. They look like little flowers. I also like the cut out design on the fan itself. We did purchase an extra down rod because we were placing this on a high arched ceiling. This fan works great in every way. If I had to purchase another ceiling fan, I would definitely purchase this one again.
