The Spring Festival
_x000D_
In the Chinese culture, the Spring Festival marks the first day of the lunar year. Preparations usually begin a month in advance, with families busy making special foods, cleaning thoroughly, and decorating their homes to welcome good fortune. On Chinese New Year’s Eve, all family members gather for a lavish reunion dinner. After staying up until midnight, people often set off fireworks and firecrackers to celebrate the coming year. On the first day of the lunar New Year, children dress in new clothes, offer greetings to their parents, and joyfully receive red envelopes containing lucky money.
